About VedicAstro
Authentic Jyotish, openly built.
VedicAstro is a free, open Vedic astrology platform that generates accurate birth charts, Vimshottari dasha timelines, yoga detection reports, Ashtakoota kundli matching and daily forecasts. All calculations use the Swiss Ephemeris (the gold standard in astronomical computation), the Lahiri ayanamsa, and the Whole Sign house system — the same setup used by traditional Parashari astrologers.
Who builds VedicAstro
VedicAstro is built and operated by DevTuskers, a small independent software studio. The project began as a learning exercise in classical Jyotish — the founder grew up around Sri Lankan Parashari astrologers and wanted a clean, modern interface for the same calculations they do by hand. Source code, calculation choices and change history are public on GitHub.
What we believe
Astronomical accuracy first
Every planetary position is computed with the Swiss Ephemeris, the same precision-grade kernel used by professional astrologers and academic astronomers. We do not approximate.
Traditional Parashari foundation
We default to Lahiri ayanamsa and the Whole Sign house system — the configuration described in the Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra and used across most of South Asia.
Free at the point of use
Birth charts, dashas, yogas, kundli matching and the daily forecast are free and require no sign-up. Optional paid reports help fund the servers and Swiss Ephemeris license.

Our calculation choices are documented in plain language on the Methodology page. If you disagree with a default, we'll tell you exactly what to change.

We do not predict lottery numbers, sell remedies, run a paid consultation marketplace, or replace a qualified astrologer for major life decisions. Astrology is a lens for self-reflection — treat the output as a starting point for a conversation, not as a medical, legal or financial verdict.
